Soror Yvonne Cherell, is a respected advocate of social justice, equity, and fairness in the state of Ohio. She currently serves as President/Founder of Freeman Focus Management, Inc., a contractual group specializing in event planning, project management and training.

Prior to establishing Freeman Focus Management, Inc., Soror Cherell successfully championed a career in the non-profit sector for more than 25 years. As a beginning program coordinator and substitute teacher to succeeding executive director of Franklin County’s only social service chamber of commerce. Through advocacy, leadership, and community outreach, she maintains her passion for Ohio’s children and families.

Soror Cherell served succeeding terms as Basileus (President) of Delta Omicron Sigma Alumnae Chapter (DOS) Columbus, OH. Her leadership is attributed with the Chapter’s membership growth, community engagement serving 2,000 Columbus families and residents annually and the Chapter’s new image and branding style. Under her guidance the chapter received more than two dozen local and regional awards including unprecedented recognition by the Columbus City School District and NPHC of Columbus.

With more than 16 years of uninterrupted financial and active service, Soror Cherell also completed her first positional role on the Central Region Board as Nominating Chair SY 2016-2018. And in June 2018, she achieved her biggest accomplishment in Sigma as Life Member #1338. She is now the Director of Membership for DOS, member of Central Region Protocol Committee and National Legislative Action Committee Chair.

Soror Cherell is a member of several taskforce and Boards most notably, Policy Matters Ohio and the Governor’s Council on Juvenile Justice. She is a reserved trainer for “Race Matters” through Annie E. Casey Foundation, graduate of the African American Leadership Academy Cycle IX and Cleveland Leadership Center – Bridge Builders Program.

Soror Cherell is a proud Alumna of Wilberforce University. She enjoys an emptynest life with her Love and furbaby in Columbus, OH.
